Barbara Babb

Barb is the Literacy Coordinator at the Waukegan Public Library. She has been a volunteer tutor with the Adult Learning Connection for many years, and is still an active tutor in the program. Barbara has a Masters degree in Reading, and is also trained in the Wilson Reading System.

Sari Oosta

Sari is the Acting Literacy Coordinator for the College of Lake County until the position is filled on a permanent basis. Sari is also the Family Literacy Coordinator for the Lake County Adult Learning Connection. She coordinates 7 different family literacy sites in Lake County with 12 classes. She recruits and trains ESL tutors, matches ESL one-on-one tutors and students, forms small groups, and recruits ESL tutors for classrooms at CLC, Mundelein, and Highland Park. Sari has a B.A. in Education and an M.A. in American History. Sari is married with one daughter & lived in Germany for two years.

Sally Scheifinger

Sally Scheifinger is a Reading Specialist on the staff of the Lake County Adult Learning Connection. She trains tutors to assist the teacher in a classroom or work with a student one-on-one. Sally matches tutors and students at various sites and monitors their progress. She holds a Master's degree in Reading and a Bachelor's degree in Library Science.

Onise Pitts

Onise is the data base records manager based at the College of Lake County.

Zagary Gonzalez

Zagary is the part-time staff person at the Adult Learnng and Technology Center, and a GED student at the College of Lake County.

Consultants

Mary Lynn Carver and Suzie Hervitz serve as tutor training consultants, and Suzie along with Maggie Maxwell are the Health Literacy consultants. All are adult education instructors with the College of Lake County.
